Shake your music with Python

dcrocha | 11 June, 2008 17:52

I was preparing demos for the next Forum Nokia Tech Days, to be held in São Paulo, Brazil next week, and it came to mind I should do something with the sensors using Python.

Here is the result: Sensor-powered music player for Nokia N95. Nothing too sophisticated, but it goes to show how you can showcase your ideas pretty quickly using PyS60: it took me about 2 hours to develop.

Good One Daniel!

Some months ago, I had built a Lock-Unlock utility based on the similar concept - Sensor (with may be 15 to 20 lines of code using pys60 :-) )

You can watch it here,

forgive the quality of the video, :-)

Two hours on Python? What have you done, implemented your own player and stuff?

We've done it in about 30' in Symbian C++.

2 hours

I forgot to mention I was driving in the snow while programming! I was running away from kidnappers. And I had no laptop! I was just writing code in a piece of paper then scanning it back to the phone then uploading it via 3G to my computer at home! And my hands were tied!

Did I mention the sales people shouting in the office while I was doing it? :)
