These are the articles related to iPhone as (open) platform in the pass few days, and all seems to be sparked by Podcaster application...
Apple Rep says: Since Podcaster assists in the distribution of podcasts, it duplicates the functionality of the Podcast section of iTunes.

Why iPhone is an ureliable platform — I wouldn't invest in or develop an iPhone app because Apple could decide not to approve it, and if they don't approve it you can't sell it. You can't even give it away. You don't find out if you've been approved until the last step …

I'm writing this on "the funnest iPod ever" so I cannot copy paste the relevant URL (feature not supported) but if you Google for "pull my finger iPhone" you will find yet another case of an application rejected by Apple.

At the end of the day openess should extend to the customer who should be able to install anything they want from anywhere. Restrictive practices only serve to restrict innovation.

iPod has many unfinished functions but it do its main job. And do it very well.

iphone is a very nice phone with the very good appearance but one problem with this is there is no forward option in messages... to do this we need to get an extra software which costs too much...
