I've blogged couple times on the event, before and after. Now the video is up and you can experience it youself.
Recently, Yahoo! was host to an open forum whose theme was "Using the Social Graph / Social Platforms to Enhance Search & Discovery". We invited the following people to sit and chat with the audience, answer questions and discuss their thoughts. Thank you to Kevin Marks from Google, Aditya Argarwal from Facebook, Eve Phillips CEO of Chirp, and Kent Brewster of Yahoo! for being a part of a great forum. (video link)

The New CEO of Mozilla Corporation, John Lilly, appeared on The GigaOm Show for a short Q&A about what his new role means to Firefox users, the future of Mozilla Corporation, and the future of the Thunderbird E-mail client. John took over as CEO at the request of former CEO Mitchell Baker in January.
Watch this episode of The GigaOm Show here.
(Note: If you want to download the show and watch it on the go, the 'Small Quicktime' version plays well on the Nokia N95, N82, N95 8GB, N93, N93i, and other devices that have MP4 playback support.)

It is wonderful to be in the bay area... Just so many talented people and exciting new technologies.
Last
night I attended SDForum Search SIG panel session. The discussions were
wonderful and going pretty fast. It was difficult to take notes but,
there were few key items that are interesting (to me).
Panelists:
Kevin Marks from Google (heading the Google social graph API effort)
Aditya Argarwal (Director of Engineering, Facebook)
Kent Brewster (Yahoo! Working on MyBlogLog API)
Eve Phillips (CEO of Chirp)
Lightweight
Social Graph vs. Accurate Social Graph - This has to deal with rather a
social graph is for causal sharing or rather details/accurate
information are shared.
Avoid Anti-Patten - This term anti-patten
is new to me, but according to Wikipedia, a solution that initially
seems to be solveing problem, but later found to be cause more issues.
Portability
of a social graph - Can you move it easily? Even further, if someone
decides to leave the network, can all data be erased.
Privacy - The key is no surprises to the users
Not
knowing users want want is common - Initially, at the bootstrap phase
of a social network it is not often clear what the users really want.
Listen to the users.
Every social network has a bootstrap phase.
Kent
Brewster showed a really cool demo, the latest MyBlogLog API, which
allow blog visitors' social graph (mush up) data shown. You can try the
demo here: http://kentbrewster.com/blogjuice/
(just click on the Blog Juice link and select some people from the
popup window) According to Mr. Brewster, he had only 2 days to work on
it, so expect beta experience
Even Phillips CEO of Chrip showed off her company's product: A social network/mash up screen saver. http://www.chrip.com
Yahoo Media team taped the session, and they told me that the video will be on either http://next.yahoo.net or http://developer.yahoo.com . I don't want when the video will be up, but as soon as I know I will an update.

Register has reported this news. We all know, the Web, AJAX, JavaScript, DHTML can potentially have security issues. The challenges for mobile device manufacters are to prepare for threats handling and updates. Will the model of security updates as common as the PC world one day? We all hate those updates, but they are necessary. Firmware updates are often harder to do then on PC of course and the releases come only every few months. Should each manufacter has to start a threat response team to release update qucikly?

Jeff Jarvis, a graduate school professor in NYC, was given a Nokia N82 while working with Reuters. He used it extensively while covering the World Economic Forum.
Beet.tv Interviewed Jeff to find out what he thinks is so empowering about using a Multimedia Camera Device, like the Nokia N82.
Watch the video over on Beet.tv.
What do you think? Is Jeff right? Will devices such as the Nokia N82 brought to the masses combined with always on internet access change the way News is presented as we know it? Or will the large News companies be too powerful and influential to overcome the way things are?Source: IntoMobile

This is the first entry of the blog! This blog will be used to log all things web related, technologies, news and thoughts... You are welcome to exchange your thoughts on the web, aka to me the big W. I am hoping to invite some guests and partner writers for this site. Therefore you may see multiple writers blogging here.
Let's really start the blog...
The recent Mircosoft and Yahoo deal is all over the Internet. Now even Google is entering the disucssion. There are already enough bloggers, jounarlists, investors have expressed thier "feeling" toward this deal. Now's let check out what the two main characters in this deal have to say to thier employees:
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to Microsoft employees explaining the Yahoo acquisition offer
There is nothing we don't know about in the emails, but it is interesting to read the two emails side by side.
