JavaScript code can crach iPhone, iPod Touch

Register has reported this news. We all know, the Web, AJAX, JavaScript, DHTML can potentially have security issues. The challenges for mobile device manufacters are to prepare for threats handling and updates. Will the model of security updates as common as the PC world one day? We all hate those updates, but they are necessary. Firmware updates are often harder to do then on PC of course and the releases come only every few months. Should each manufacter has to start a threat response team to release update qucikly?
