Wiki article ratings could be useful, if they were used...

hartti | 14 March, 2008 04:19

Some time ago we added the possibility to rate articles on our Wiki. Every content page has two rating widgets at the top of the page. One for the for the quality and one for the expertise level (how demanding the article is).

Unfortunately those ratings have not been used much even though in the longer run those ratings could end up being useful tools for locating Wiki articles worth reading. Or articles in need of a total overhaul...

So next time you read an article in our wiki, please, spend few seconds of your time to rate the article you just read. Those few seconds will surely benefit other developers looking for answers.

Oh...boy...
Are you saying that you do not see any rankings in here?

I was able to see the ranking even after refresh. And see the rankings on another computer.

Now this is fun. Not.

Which browser are you using? And were you logged on to Forum Nokia when you did the ranking?

The ratings work for me too, hartti. I'm using IE 7 and rated this page, and after I refreshed the rating was still there.

IE7 - all ok.
Firefox 2.0.0.12 and Firefox 3 (beta 4) - weird behavior, it seems that the vote is lost on refresh but it comes back if you:
- log out and then back in
- try to vote again: take a new page, vote 3 on quality, 3 on expertise. Refresh, the score and vote count id back to 0. Now, try to vote again with 4 points on both categories: you will see vote count going back to 1 and the number of points set to the original 3 not to la latest selection 4.

I use Firefox 2.0.0.12.

Looks like another one widget work wierd too.
I'm telling about "sun's" near Destination filename field in Upload file page:
http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Special:Upload
One time while i'm filling it - sun's appear one by one, so i get 5-7 sun's soon, but when i delete text in a field - their count not decreasing. Now then i type something "sun" appear for a second and hide again. So i'm still don't know what that indicator mean.

fixed

Now it works...?

And we did not even have time to fix it...

I wonder what was the reason for this..

Let me know if you see this behavior again
