Adobe announced today that the first public alpha release of the Apollo toolkit is now available. I mentioned Apollo briefly in my Adobe MAX wrap-up a few months back.
According to Adobe Labs info page "Apollo is the code name for a cross-operating system runtime being developed by Adobe that allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop."
Definitely Apollo is still long way from final release, but the promise is there. In your spare time, check it out in order to be prepared to work on this platform too when it is getting ready to launch. Some pointers to other blogs entries here, here and here
