Don't expect miracles here, don't expect solutions to world's problems. It is more likely that I will ask [myself] questions looking for a always elusive answer.
And of course: "All opinions expressed in this blog are the author's own and do not necessarily represent the official view of Nokia". I mean it!

Hm.. Thanks, i miss it.
Did they plan to publish standalone distributive of v1.3.1?
ltomuta | 14/07/2008, 10:11
I don't know anything about that.
SimonJudge | 14/07/2008, 11:28
Ok, Carbide 1.3 doesn't officially support S60 2nd.
ltomuta | 14/07/2008, 11:41
Indeed, that's what the hack is all about. The S60 2nd Edition SDKs (and Series 80 for that matter) are not supported. But if one really wants to do it, it is not at all impossible. :)

...and i am rather interested in the hack. ;-)
It would be nice if you reveal the secret. Simultaneously i am also waiting to see Carbide.c++ 1.2 in the archive downloads as announced before a day or two.

Symbian EKA1 SDKs are not officially supported. The code is still there, as Lucian has found, but not enabled by default or officially supported.
1.3.1 build 36 is the latest, available through the update site. Get Lucian's Google gadget and you'll always be up to date.

Me too. I am waiting for so many days for this
ltomuta | 15/07/2008, 14:51
It is a hack in the good sense, of making something work (but not really testing it enough to call it a feature) :)
I will post instructions on how to do the hack soon, but do not expect a full solution, rather a path opening material, as I am not going to spend time testing all the UI Designer features. Also I do not have some very complicated legacy UI designs to test either so ... Well, it is just a hack :)
I've been poking my nose in mobile software development since 2000, starting on what was then the ER5 and Ericsson's R380. Since then I've been doing a bit of everything on the S60 Platform, from learning its bits and pieces to helping others find their way trough the maze.
