We had the first session of PyS60 Talks yesterday.

The Agenda for PyS60 Talks #1 was Sis files and Signing Issues !

And I have to say we had quite a decent audience to participate in the talks. We had a good handful of FN Champions and experts attend this talks in addition to the enthusastic PyS60 developers and some end users also.

We had some Golden, Silver, Copper and sometimes even a Dimond Question flying in the Talks

(The participants would know more about those kind of questions)

The discussions in the talks mainly pertained to Signing Issues and I hope the new developers can say they know the following:

• What is Signing ? 
• Why is Signing necessary?
• How to Sign applications? 
• What is the difference between Self Signed and Open Signed Beta ?
• What is the Importance of Platform Securiy  ?
• Easy Way to get your applications open signed - using opensigned.py by yak
• Discussions on Ensymble
• How was free dev cert system abused ?

Now for the surprise : 

We decided to give away a prize to a lucky participant of the talks. Now you know why we needed your email addresses.

There were 9 participants who gave their email addresses for the surprise so we drew a Lucky participant among those 9.

Agenda / Discussion Topic : Sis files and Signing Issues

PyS60 Talks #1 would cover discussions on creating SIS files for 2nd and 3rd edition devices. Also it would have discussions related to various signing issues (Specially extensions which require more capabilities and signing) The topics have been selected on basis of recent discussions on the discussion boards. We see a lot of people posting problems to "Sis files and Signing Issues", and so PyS60 Talks #1 would potrait them !

This is the first session of Pys60 Talks, so the duration has been kept 2 hours from 13:30 GMT to 15:30 GMT thus more people would be able to attend it.  

How to join the Pys60 Talks : 

1. Go to http://www.mibbit.com/
2. Write #pys60talks as the channel
3. Pick a nickname for yourself (this has to be unique, so try to come up with something more original than “Henry” or "John")
4. Click connect.

The channel is currently protected with a password and will be opened at the beginning of the session. At least me and Bogdan will be joining from our side.

Note: When you enter the #pys60talks channel, just PM me (croozeus) or bogdan your name and email address. We would use it for surprises (if any) after the talks ! This is not compulsory.

"This project is a joint venture by Pankaj Nathani and Bogdan Galiceanu" 

We have tried to integrate everything about Python for S60 on croozeus.com ! Many of you might have known about my tutorials on Pys60 at my Home Page - http://croozeus.googlepages.com/py60 ; here we have just tried to make it more better for the new developers as well as advanced developers. The tutorials are freshly prepared and in a more organized manner to learn Pys60 with ease !      Moreover we have also introduced some new concepts like "Pys60 Talks" and "Pys60 Applications". These added sections will only allow the developers to widen their knowledge about Python for S60.

PyS60 Talks would be an interactive session which would be held online where Pys60 developers can meet and share their ideas. The first Pys60 Talks session would be announced in a few days.

Pys60 Applications is a section where every ten days, we feature one standalone application in Python for S60 (with source code), so that other developers may learn from these !
