My principal interest in mobile is to push the boundaries of innovation to create uniquely mobile experiences. I hope my blogs excite and challenge developers to think 'outside the box'.

I came across my old Atari Lynx at home and having been at the Nokia Games Summit I was inspired to bring it in to work to see if I could get it going. The original power supply was knackered but I managed to cobble something together to get it to work. The photo below shows how 1989 technology stacks up against an N95 and illustrates an evolution in mobile gaming.
Although the controls are very different the screen size is about the same butthe resolution and colour depth are lower. Interestingly the game on the Lynx is ‘Todd’s Adventures in Slime World’ which was a very playable game and would probably give many current mobile games a run for their money in terms of actual game play

The new games Dance Fabulous was annouced at the Games Summit (see previouss blog) which features Cindy Gomez and Dave Stewart so that cover part of your request. Perhaps we could have a game were you had to film ringtones going off at inaproriate moments which were rated on a shared site ;)

Dear Paul,
I'm bought your book S60 Programming (Wiley) and couldn't find the source code (no CD and no source on Wiley's web site).
I'd thank you if you can send me the code to
peterpen1234@hotmail.com or let me know where is it published online.
Many Thanks
Pete

A lynx... sigh, the nostalgia :)
Games "back then" indeed had a more interesting gameplay.
