Having spent the morning trying to persuade Carbide that I do not have an N73 at the end of the USB cable despite what windows and my self know I found this reddit post quite amusing
One major feature request for ODD - can we have meaningful error messages: what does error code 20 mean?
The app installs and runs fine on the device and installs one via ODD but the moment it starts the process, ODD reports an error.
So my once monthly saga into trying to get ODD working on my Dell continues.....

Yeah, I sometimes try bluetooth if all else fails.
I hate wasting an entire day getting something to work, that should already work.

Bluetooth is terrible on my PC (A Dell). I know not everyone suffers from this. I can make it work, but I have to start TRK and the debugger at just the right time because (I think) the signalling is all wrong on the virtual com port. However, I have found that I can make it stable if I use one of the PC based com port mappers.
That probably won't help you much, Paul.
Have you tried uninstalling any PC suite software you have and installing the version that came with the N73? The USB drivers seem to change in subtle, unpredictable ways over time.

Tried Bluetooth?

Hi Paul,
Have you tried ODD via Bluetooth? Somewhat counter-intuitively I've found it much more stable than USB. Particularly on older models like the N73 with those awful pop-ports that disconnect if you breathe too hard near them!
