The Series 40 5th Edition SDK is the reference implementation SDK for the Series 40 Platform 5th Edition. The SDK enables developers to quickly and efficiently run and test Java applications as well as browser and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) content. It also includes JSR-248 Mobile Service Architecture Subset implementation.
The latest version of the SDK (Feature Pack 1) is based on the Nokia 6500 slide phone and provides for example support for the newest technology version (2.1.1) of Adobe's Macromedia Flash Lite and includes JSR-211 Content Handler API.

Be one of the top contributors to the Forum Nokia Developer Wiki between Nov 15th and Nov 30th, and win Nokia’s new premier multimedia device. All articles submitted during the time period will be judged on how well they are presented, what the content is and the number of quality entries. The more people that participate; the more N95’s we will give away.
In addition to the possibility of winning, all contributors will be considered for nomination into the Forum Nokia Champions program.
Those who have previously won, as well as Forum Nokia employees and contractors are not eligible for this contest. For a full set of rules see the Wiki Home page

The Developers Community has updated the sign on system so it will remember you (if selected) for two weeks. This is in addition to the unified sign on that allows you to sign on once for all the community and Forum Nokia logins. Please let us know if there is any other things we can change to make it easier for you to get the information you need.

There are two new bits of news for this week and a couple old bits of news. In the new news Discussion Board Super Contributors are now allowed personal avatars. The other new news is that the Java code example Bluetooth HelloWorld Chat was selected as the Wiki’s contribution of the week.
One of the rewards I’ve always wanted to make was the ability to have your personalized avatar for those that contribute to Forum Nokia discussion boards. This is now possible for the “super contributors”. Members that have posted more than 500 replies can now design and use their own avatar, within acceptable Forum Nokia legal restrictions.
Wiki moderator Daniel Rocha dcrocha picked Java code example Bluetooth chat HelloWorld written by Forum Nokia Champion Luis-Junior as the Wiki contribution of the week.
Of course what is in this weeks news but already announced is that Croozeus was awarded discussion board poster of the month and Kyllercg was awarded the Wiki Contributor of the month for their commitment to a Nokia developer community.

Forum Nokia honors one member every month for their outstanding contribution to our community’s Wiki. The winner for the Month of October is Kyllercg. Kyllercg has contributed some high quality articles in Brazilian Portuguese to the Wiki. As a winner of contributor of the month Kyllercg was awarded a new Nokia N95 multimedia device.
The Wiki moderators and I extend a warm thanks to Kyllercg for his efforts.
The contributor of the month is a subjective selection based on the number of new or translated articles, the content of the articles and the quality of the articles as well as edits made to other articles.

I love technology but this time I should have read the manual!
One of the new tools we started using with the new Developer Community was a new Blog engine. One of the features of it was the ability for non members or members not signed on to make comments about the blogs. Of course with a power like that one needs to guard against SPAM so we enabled this using a image recognition program and anti spam built into the software. Oddly myself and other bloggers noticed that the number of comments that were in the description were not the number of comments we actually shown. The problem was because you all replied so quickly to my message it showed up as spam. I now know I need to check for spam regularly and delete it, as well as to check for non-spam and allow it. I see there were dozens of great comments about the new portal that were never posted before and I thank everyone for their suggestions. Thanks, I’ll be more alert in the future. Keep the suggestions coming. Ron
