Check out the recent updates of the Open C Technology section on Forum Nokia. Where you can find, for example, these resources:
-A new Quick Start page provides developers new to Open C with direct links to important development tool and documentation resources to jump-start development.
Three advanced Open C example applications (incorporating a complete UI):
-Open C IRC Example (ported from Open Source software)
-Open C FTP Client Example (ported from Open Source software)
-Open C: SMS Crypto Example with Python UI; also a Symbian C++ UI is provided for comparison purposes
The examples include documentation on porting/development experiences.

Note also that starting from S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2, Open C is now a preinstalled part of the S60 platform. Porting open source software to the S60 platform should now be easier than ever!
