Winners of Review an Article contest

Last month, Forum Nokia Wiki organized a contest for reviewers - Review an Article contest! The purpose of this competition was to provide additional feedback pointing out high quality articles that are tested by the community. The contest was well received by the developer community and we got more than 1200 articles reviewed during this contest.

As for the winners, one winner is selected randomly (as promised), giving everyone who participated a fair chance to win. FireSwarog was randomly selected as the lucky winner.

Other than the lucky winner, 4 other winners + 2 Forum Nokia Champions (who were judged separately) are awarded for their submission of high quality reviews. The reviews were read and reread by the judges before picking up the winners.

Hearty congratulations to all the winners and participants for their efforts.

To meet the ever increasing enthusiasm of Wiki contributors, we have a new contest for the month of October - Forum Nokia's contest for Mobile Web Templates.

This Wiki competition offers Web developers the opportunity to show off their creativity and technical skills using Nokia's Mobile Web Templates. Entries need to show how to develop better projects using these templates, and authors should document how they used the templates and changed them for their needs, including information such as stylistic changes, dynamic content, and database connection adaptations. The articles can be in the context of Mobile Web Sites or Web Runtime (WRT) using the Nokia Mobile Web Templates.

Mobile Design Challenge - share and win!

Help us to increase the number of useful design resources available on Forum Nokia and win handsets and other prizes! Contribute useful tips and info you’ve discovered about user interfaces, visual approaches and interaction design to the Forum Nokia Wiki and help us to be the best resource available for creative developers. This contest is a great chance to showcase your talent and creativity.

Helpful contributions may range from visual and interaction design information and for example may include the following

Design patterns
UI components
CSS styling tips
jQuery info
Mobile web design information
Surprise us with your designs

Prizes:

The top contributor will receive a copy of Adobe CS4 as well as a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The two best runner-ups as determined by the judges will recieve a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. If there are quite a few entries, more devices may be distributed in addition to the first prize winner and two runner ups.

Timeline:

Only entries during the contest period 00:01 GMT May 7th, 2009 to 23:59 May 31, 2009 will be accepted for this contest.

Edit and Win - Winners!

Last month, the Forum Nokia Wiki organised a Edit and Win Wiki Contest.

As the name suggests, the competetion had a prime focus on editing articles and we did get a very good response from the contributors, all over the world. All articles edited during the time period of the competetion were subjectively judged on how well they are edited, what additional content is provided and the number of Edits during the period of competetion.

It is great pleasure to announce the four winners of the Edit and Win Wiki Contest. The first overall winner is Savaj with his many useful and insightful edits on the Wiki. First runner-up overall was Mind freak who seemed to have spent all his free time polishing up articles. Since we felt it was not fair to have Forum Nokia champions competing against the general contributor, Kamaljaiswal, was selected as a winner among Forum Nokia champions. Dougcn edited many articles this month through translations and he was the fourth winner of the editing contest.

Forum Nokia Wiki Administration thanks all those who participated in the competetion.

Apart from the contest, Marcelobarrosalmeida ‎ who has contributed several extremely useful Python articles was selected as the Contributor of the Month for March 2009.

Edit and Win - Final Call for Entries!

The March 31st deadline is only a few days away, and the Forum Nokia Wiki is putting out a FINAL call for entries to contributors worldwide to edit and submit outstanding articles for "Edit and Win" Wiki competition.

The rules of the contest are simple; Edit by addition of Material or correcting inaccuracies or formatting to a more standard look any Wiki article. All articles edited during the time period will be subjectively judged on how well they are edited, what if any additional content is and the number of Edits during the month. The top contributors will win a new Nokia device based on availability the first of April. Only Edits during the contest period 00:01 GMT March 3, 2009 to 23:59 March 31, 2009 will be judged for this contest. Edits that are considered frivolous by the judges will be penalized by not judging one or more viable edits.

Prizes for the competetion include Nokia S60 devices such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic or other device of your choice (depending upon the availability) along with the appreciation of your peers.
