Robert Burdick has posted my presentation from the Boston Forum Nokia Flash Lite Technology Day that occurred this month.

My session was on Programming Advanced Nokia Features with Flash Lite, where I essentially focused on talking about using 3rd party products (like Kuneri Lite) to extend Flash on Series 60 devices.

I also talked briefly about the upcoming S60 Platform Services (coming soon to S60 5th Edition Nokia devices) that will allow developers to tap into native device API across numerous development platforms, including Flash (via ActionScript and associated class library and API).

Going forward with S60 Platform Services, Nokia will be making it easier to tap things like Application manager, Calendar records, Contacts records, Log information, SMS and MMS messaging, The media gallery, Device location, Landmarks, System information, Sensors and other really cool goodies we'd like to access from our mobile applications, and other content.

(Many thanks to Anne for expediting this process!)

For those who may be wondering within the Nokia Forum community; I am Scott Janousek; one of those "brave souls" doing really cool Flash and Flash Lite on embedded and mobile devices. I've been doing it for quite a while, actually ... essentially, since Flash Lite 1.1 hit the "Western world" (circa 2005) (BTW: I am based just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, USA).

If you're interested to know about me: google me ... or point yourself to this (somewhat out of date) bio over at linkedin.com, get more info off my mobile site: scottjanousek.mobi, visit my personal blog, or this corporate bio (blah).

In terms of professional info; I started Hooken Mobile in late 2006 (I act as CEO/Technical Director). Currently, we specialize in Flash Lite design and development across many platforms and devices, including S40 and S60 (our favorite Flash Lite enabled (handset) platform, actually!). We have also branched into other areas of mobile design development service offerings this year (will talk more on this soon).

In terms of community ... in addition to being inducted to the Forum Champions program recently, I have created, maintain, and stay active in many Flash (and Mobile) related community efforts.

Some examples of this:

Being an active Adobe Flash Lite 1.1/2.x/3.x Certified Training Instructor

Adobe Community Expert - Mobile & Devices

Member of the Adobe MaD Learning Resources Advisory Group

Coauthor of the Foundation Flash Applications for Mobile Devices Book, Friends of Ed (Apress) - ISBN: 1590595580

Reviewer for Frame 27: Flash Mobile Game Reviews

Admin for slideshare.net - Flash Lite Presentations

Creator of the Flash Lite Community World Map

Member of Boston Flash Mobile User Group

Member of Mobile Monday Boston ... For all other Flash Lite posts, please see my other personal blog.

Also, for those wondering ... my latest Nokia devices are: the N95 (Non-NAM), E90, and N810; my favorite being the N95 for the crux of Flash Lite development on S60!

OK ... So, now that I covered a lot of basics ... enough about me!

It's nice to be here! My next post will be something technical ... until then, c'ya.

P.S.

To those I met at the Nokia Developer Camp event (Las Vegas) a few weeks back; greetings all!
