VOIP using IAX protocol

I'm a user of the N95. I have used the VOIP feature of my phone for sometime but it's very "iffy" depending on wireless hotspot. I thought why doesn't someone create a softphone for S60 using the IAX protocol instead of SIP. My experience is that IAX traverses NAT scenarios better than SIP seems to do. Maybe someone could enlighten me on this.
