Hi everyone.

A few days ago, I was surfing the web and I found out a project that works over most mobile phones which lets you know where your friends are in real time and update your status in twitter. It´s called Dimdix.

On their website they say you don´t need a GPS system to detect your location. Does anyone know how this works?

I´m using a Motorola L7 and amazingly it detected my location.

I cannot stop thinking of all the things I could do with it.

If anyone wants to take a look you can go here

Thanks,

Regards,

Juan

iphone fan reactions...

Thanks for the comments guys, Well this is a never ending discussion.

I think I will have to import the iphone, as I can not afford to buy it - atleast in India ;-)

Now as the iphone has been launched some hours ago, here is a writeup : How the iphone fans responded to the launch !

A normal move in my opinion

It is a known fact that India is a huge consumer of electronics, so it's only normal that Apple released the new version of the iPhone here (though a bit later than in other parts, I don't know why). But no matter how interested in technology people are they will find it hard to spend nearly 775$ on a phone. So the pricing strategy is a horrible one, in my opinion.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how it'll do, especially now that the release of Nokia's new flagship N96 is right around the corner.

It is worth it - to some people

Hmph, why should it cost same in India as in USA? In Europe the numbers remain same, but currency changes from USD --> EUR. That's about 30% price increase! That's normal, unfortunately :(

Whether it's worth the price or not is individual decision. iPhone is a fashing statement, doesn't necessarily have anything to do with use. People buy sport cars, too, don't they? Very rarely, if ever, such cars can legally be driven with their max speed. Any normal car would do just fine as transport, but some people don't want any normal car.

I claim it's the same thing with iPhone! There are people who have iPhone and people who want it.

Earlier this week I read article about N96 release in India, just a few days before iPhone release. It was titled as "Nokia killer phone"! Would be interesting to see its follow-up, how N96 and iPhone actually match up in India.

Cheers,

--jouni
