First of all, let me say Congratulations! to Series 60 for the big improvement to the new generation, Series 60 5th Edition. I like the features and this suite me a lot while doing work from home in 5th edition mobile. You are Rock Nokia.

hi guys i m pretty new 2 this site.i just bought a new 5800 xpress music phone.i tried downloading the widsets software but during installation of the file it say's certificate error what should i do

I played with the emulator but it seems no operation requires double tap. maybe I should explore it more.

Just two softkeys is a waste of space. I wish there were three like in UIQ3.

A full touchscreen without d-pad like 5800XM badly needs flick scrolling. with spring effect ofcourse =)

Hi!

Personally I don't like that smart input method for searching contact because the arrangement of the alphabets changes in every letter you type. Therefore you can't type a name as fast as possible. Instead, you need to glance first to the new alphabet arrangement.

Is there a way to use instead a numeric virtual key using multitap?

1. Yes, I strongly believe that since S60 has very big community right now. It's the biggest cake of Smart Phone market. So it's not good to leave it behind and I believe that Symbian Foundation think like this too. ;) However, it's just my opinion.

2. Yes, long pressing do the thing like right mouse click like WM.

3. Nice question. I forgot to write about it. Contact application has its own input method. It's the very smart input method in my opinion. I will list all available alphabet in the contact and display as popup button. Please see this for screenshot. http://www.nuuneoi.com/blog/564/055.jpg

Compatibility

I have curious questions:

1. Do you think the upcoming Symbian Foundation OS will be backward compatible with S60 5th edition applications?

2. Which objects really requires double tap and which doesn't? Try long pressing any object. Does it display a option list like in Windows Mobile?

it's hanwriting shoud be such that it can show similar caracter in the below line after we enter the caracter.
