For me, this video is actually the first time that I see QT for S60, and my first impression has actually been - somewhat skeptical.

The reason is that apart from the cool "cover flow" style effects (here's hoping that these will work on keypad-only phones as well...) the actual UI examples appear to depart quite a long way from the "Style Guide" for S60 application so far. So even though this makes portability of applications from other platforms easier, it may on the flipside lead to a further fragmentation of the user interface on the device.

As far as I understand, QT is quite strongly based on the notion of declarative UI, so there may be a chance of final applications looking more S60-ish. Until then, the idea of "tabbing" through a series of slides, buttons etc. just seems out of place on a UI where most of the native apps are built around screens of usually very straightforward lists of choices.

[Disclaimer: I am somewhat biased from working on our TALKS screen reader, whose users depend on consistency in application UIs probably more than most, so I am quite sensitive to introduction of new control frameworks that may work with a certain form of interaction, but do not translate well to other modalities and form factors...]
