I publish Curse Guard opensource app, which can be found here:

http://devmobile.ru/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=408:curse-guard-v10&catid=71:curse-guard&Itemid=92

Its have Firewall, which is a SMS Utilities API based filter for SMS-Email messages. Looks like its work well. I think i should fix/modify incoming SMS-EMail messages instead of filter them, will do in future ver's if they will be.

More interesting is scanner feature. Actually i hope what if i clean SMS db from CoS messages it's will work. So i make simple scan of all SMS's and delete SMS-Email. But that doent help. Indeed CoS SMS doest aviable with MTM API on my 3250. May be on other models they will be there, so i leave Scanner feature in release for testing purposes. Interesting thing: after my 3250 was damaged by CoS message, i get error messages every 5 sec. SMS functionality is out of service. Then i run scanner, which actualy conect to SMS MTM and look throw all sms. Thats all, no sms deleted bcs CoS sms cant be found. Anyway looks like that fix massaging service, becouse error messages does't display after that, and i got all SMS can be received. Problem what after reboot SMS service appear to be broken again. And i should run Scanner again. So i'm going to that scanner on other phones.

Anyway source is aviable on website, and anybodie can play with it.

I just come online after holidays and find out news about Curse of Silence. Thats very annoying bug, but lookls like device can be easy protected programmatically. I spent several hours and made a console firewall against CoS SMS. I'm going to finish GUI and phonebook cleaner till morning for S60 3rd and release it's under GPL. Also I can make 2nd ed version. Hope that can become good alternative to F-Secure for somebody.

The need for an antivirus application was proved long time ago by apps such as FlexiSpy, apps which may be used for not so friendly purposes. As for the SMS issue, let's not forget that the problem could me addressed at SMSC level too.
